Last week. I visited the John Steinbeck Center in Downtown Salinas. The Monteray/Salinas area was made famous by the author's work. He was a great American artist.
I was an avid reader, and fan of his work growing up, and one of his later works, "Travels With Charley",and it is an inspiration for this roadtrip with the dogs.
The exhibit is laid out in a chronological order, detailing his works, while explaining what was going on in the Author's life during the period of each work. There were several films and multimedia features that added some dimension to the experience. I enjoyed My time here, especially seeing the very truck and camper John and his dog Charley traveled in, the original "Rociante". Me and the dogs have a few more comforts in our setup.
