On to Louisiana, the Bayou... and the Big Easy....

Headed out of Texas and across the great Bayou to New Orleans.

Driving across the bayou was beautiful. For the first few days in the area we stayed west of the city, and explored the missisppi and a few old towns.

Pups and I setup west of town to get our bearings, and get some shopping and cleaning done.

Explored the banks of the Mississippi, and a cute river town called Kenner.

Got out to the French Quarter, and the dogs watched the buildup of people and sights, smells and sounds from above the street while i enjoyed a bloody mary and some Gumbo.

Headed to the river front and enjoyed the street artists and musicians. The dogs always get smiles, and start conversations. Met people from all over the world.

The local beer i have been enjoying is Abita Brewings "Andygator" its a strong dopplebock, and has my best buddies name in it. Very tasty, I will go find that brewery, if time allows.

Visiting the Johnson Space center and Mission Control.

I took a 1/2 day at work, and headed out this week to Houston's Johnson Space center. This place houses the historical, and current , mission controls. Also here is the Space Vehicle development center, Very cool.
I touched a part of the moon.

Got to see and touch the Apollo Rocket.

Finished out the visit to Texas with a visit to the Johnson space center and mission control.
This was one of the best educational stops I've made. A huge facility, and you witness NASA folks at work planning the next missions, either to the space station, or eventually to Mars.
I got to touch a piece of the moon, as well as the actual Apollo rocket.
They have preserved mission control as it was in the 60s. You see it as it was for the Apollo missions.

Great experience, great facility.

*Note - many good photos are 'stuck' on the memory card from my phone. I am still trying to recover them.

The pups were not allowed in, but posed out front.

This is really one of the Shuttles. It will be part of a large display later this year.

The Dogs waited for me in the RV while i did my tour. They are sooo good, and cute!

The French Quarter RV resort!

Stayed right on the edge of the Quarter at "French Quarter RV park"

Hands down the nicest and classiest urban rv park we have been to.

While it is a paved lot turned into a resprt, The Facilities were top notch, it's in the city, near Armstrong park, and only blocks from the Quarter.

Karbach Brewing in Houston

Found a great little beer scene in Houston, I will explore it more my next visit. I'm very happy to have gotten out to Karbach brewing.

Great operation, tasty beers, a beer garden behind the place. Very nice crew. A soul food/grill truck was serving great food.

12 bucks for 3 berrs, a glass and a tour.

It was dog friendly, which i did not know = I'll bring them next time. I spent time visiting each of the pups and shier owners as i enjoyed the beer. I will be back here when i return to Houston.

Hanging out in Houston....

We stayed in a nice little campground by a lake in West Houston.

The dogs enjoyed exploring the nearby creeks.

Got some shopping and laundry done. The Houston area is very nice, and I will return to check it out more in the future.

A "Selfie" of me in front of the lake and RV.

A conversation with Bill Haley Jr, and one of the Comets.

*NOTE - Unfortunately, my 'smart phone' isn't so smart, and certainly does not make me much smarter. I am unable to retrieve my interview audio file, and many good photos. I want to thank Bill and Bill for the time, I will try to recover the file and photos from my smart phone chip in the future.

I was able to watch the sound check and setup process for the comets while I awaited the opportunity to discuss the music with a couple of the guys. They were quite accommodating and professional, I can't thank Bill Turner enough for helping me out.
My best to The entire group, I wish success and safe travels.

Soundcheck, with me as only one in audience.

On to Houston.
